Welcome to my website!

I am a political scientist researching climate policy and the green transition in Europe and East Asia. By comparing climate and energy governance in these two distinct regions, my work highlights how they can learn from each other’s green strategies to accelerate global climate action.

My current research focuses on how global climate standards are actually adapted and localized on the ground, across divergent regional contexts. This builds on my doctoral dissertation at Ghent University, which critically examined the normative influence of EU climate leadership and South Korea’s strategic responses. My academic foundation also includes an MSc in European Studies (Research Master) from Maastricht University, an MA in Political Science from the University of Cologne, and a BA in Political Science and International Relations at Ewha Womans University in Seoul.

Beyond academia, I actively bridge the gap between research and real-world climate diplomacy. I have worked on international sustainability initiatives with the European Union Delegation to South Korea, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, UNESCO and UNFCCC – the UN Climate Conference Secretariat.

My goal is to translate practical knowledge and a passion for climate justice into sound academic insights. Through my research, I strive to foster effective climate education and empower political participation in green policymaking.
